Rationalization, savings and innovation in Public Sector’s IT infrastructure

SUNFISH presented at the workshop concluding data centers consolidation project 


SUNFISH was presented in the framework of the workshop dedicated to present main results and outcomes of the project “Relocation of the five Data Centers of Italy’s Ministry of Finance Department of General Administration Personnel and Services“, held on the 5th of April 2016, at 10:00 am, at Sogei S.p.A. headquarters, located in Via Mario Carucci 99, Rome – Italy.

The relocation project is part of the key spending review initiatives carried out by the Italian Ministry of Finance and has been concluded accordingly to scheduled time and costs, allowing optimization of IT and budget management for utilities, facilities and logistics.

The new infrastructure has represented the key enabling condition for the full deployment of Italy’s Ministry of Finance cloud, and will allow implementation of the SUNFISH platform.

The consolidation of the data centers enables also an adequate disaster recovery system. The project represents a “model” of rationalization and innovation available as a guideline for other Public Sector organisations, willing to optimize use of resources and to move into cloud-based IT infrastructure.
