Networking Sessions – 21 October 2024 (9:00-9:45, Room 11)

OBJECTIVES

The networking session, hosted by the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance and PwC, will analyze the state-of-the-art of Public Sector Cloud Federation across Europe, through a preview of an ambitious Project funded under the EU Framework Programme Horizon 2020 – the SUNFISH project.

During this session we will be talking about 4 topics:

1. “The need to develop digital skills within European Public Administration, also to speed-up the adoption of hybrid-cloud models” Read more

2. “The need to adopt new cloud ICT standards that might ensure seamless interoperability across cloud providers, also to reduce vendor lock-in” Read more

3. “The need to assess and standardize Member States data protection laws that apply to data controllers and data processor in the cloud context” Read more

4. “The need to go beyond the cultural differences that prevent National Public Entities to trust Entities (Public or Private) belonging to other Member States” Read more

The session intends to stimulate the discussion on crucial issues challenging Digital Innovation of Public Services.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

• Parallel Brainstorming Sessions-4 Topics (20 minutes) - Participants will be divided into 4 groups to freely discuss, with the support of professional facilitators, how they would tackle the 4 topics.
• SUNFISH Presentation (5 minutes) - Two project representative will describe though a Q&A session how the SUNFISH consortium is addressing the above-mentioned challenges.
• Plenary Discussion & Wrap-Up (20 minutes)

EXPECTED OUTCOME

The session is expected to foster new research ideas via the networking between ICT related stakeholders, legal experts and more policy oriented representatives.
